8 venues Wairarapa Updated July 2026

If you dream of getting married among the vines, the Wairarapa is hard to beat, Martinborough alone is packed with vineyard estates, plus a few one-of-a-kind spots like an actual living tree church! We shoot weddings all over NZ, so here's where we'd tell a couple to start.

Common questions

How much do Wairarapa wedding venues cost?

It's a range! A vineyard estate with catering & wine will sit at the higher end once it's all added up, while a simpler ceremony space or DIY-friendly spot is more accessible. Most don't publish prices, so send them your date & guest count & ask for a quote, it changes with season & day of the week.

When's the best time of year to get married in the Wairarapa?

Summer & early autumn (November to April) are peak, long warm evenings & the vines looking their best. Just note it can get properly hot out there in midsummer, so think about some shade for your guests!

How far in advance should we book?

Well ahead, a lot of the vineyard venues only host a handful of weddings a season & book 12-18 months out for summer. Lock the venue & date in first, then everything else (us included!) fits around it.

Do Wairarapa venues include catering & wine?

Depends on the venue! The vineyard estates usually do food & their own wine in-house, while others are more BYO or bring-your-own-caterer. Always check what's included before comparing prices, because 'venue hire' can mean very different things.
